Oris has been synonymous with Aviation for over 80 years of its 115 year history, having created the Big Crown Pointer Date in 1938. This a classic style highly legible timepiece that is still available today, due to its long lasting appeal. Oris have also brought the Big Crown up to date with the ProPilot and BC3 models. The ProPilot now houses the inhouse 10 days 111 and 114 movements, amongst others. Oris amazed the world of horology a few years ago with the remarkable and innovative ProPilot Altimeter, with a fully integrated mechanical altitude gauge.
The Culture range from Oris includes the beautiful Artelier and Classic timepieces. Both styles defy their asking point with regards to the gorgeous fit and finish applied to each piece. The Artelier was chosen for Oris' first ever in house movement, introduced for their 110th Anniversary, that incorporates a staggering 10 day power reserve. Both the Artelier and Classic include gents and lady's models in multiple dial and case configurations to offer a stylish and eclectic catalogue. Wrist watches should not be this beautiful at this price point.
The incredibly popular Oris Diver's range includes the contemporary Aquis and the classical homage Sixty Five. The Aquis range includes ladies utilitarian, yet pretty, pieces up to the magnificent 51mm ProDiver Chronograph. Oris express their love of the sea and their desire to make it a safe and thriving environment for our sealife, by introducing Limited Edition pieces annually whereby donations are made from each watch sold to charities and commendable causes. Examples include the "Source Of Life", "Clipperton", "Staghorn" and "Hammerhead" to name a few. The incredibly unique and innovative Aquis Depth Gauge is also a flagship piece of note.
Oris was founded in Holstein, Switzerland, in 1904. This relatively unknown brand has a history rich in endeavour and innovation that would create envy for most other luxury watch brands around today. Originally creating pocket watches, including the one Louis Bleriot carried on his cross channel flight in 1909, Oris was at the forefront at the advent of the wrist watch, creating its first in 1917. In 1938 Oris created an absolute classic: The Big Crown Pointer Date. One of the longest continuous catalogue models for any brand. Oris continues to innovate today, with watches like the Pro-Diver, Altimeter and Depth Gauge timepieces. Now a qualified manufacture, since creating the in-house 110 movement to celebrate their 110th Anniversary Oris is going from strength to strength.
